4CEUs NCBTMB # 1000385
Date: January 28th 2022
Time: 9:30am-1:30pm
WHAT WE WILL LEARN:
Understand trauma and touch through the lens of the Polyvagal Theory - how to create safety and stabilization of the ANS through touch and movement- core mechanisms in Massage/Manual Therapy
See the Autonomic Nervous System flexibility as its most important function and the Vagus nerve as the forgotten most important superhighway of our bodies
Understand why our perfectly learned and delivered manual techniques work only sometimes
Explore safe manual and movement approaches for self-regulation of the ANS during times of uncertainty and sympathetic survival dominance
Learn specific manual techniques to painful body parts that are resisting change or touch as a result of elevated stress and anxiety
All approaches are easy to be self-applied - please, share them with your clients via your online platforms.
This is the purpose of this webinar!
YOU WILL RECEIVE:
Upon registration, a curriculum and prerequisite reading before each individual session
Clinical pearls for improved practice results
Access to audio and video recordings
A PDF of the presenter’s slides
Links to all referenced research papers and useful clinical handouts
Your exclusive invitation to discussions and questions
This 4 hours class is far from the complete comprehensive Trauma-informed curriculum but we’ll use ‘THE ESSENCE-SCIENCE OF IT- cognitive biases define how we feel positive and negative events in our bodies. When we are feeling not safe and uncertain, the body adopts anxious patterns, which perpetuate stress. Our clinically-tested approach is simple! By evoking ventral Vagal tone through the body, our brains are trained to focus on the positive, which reduces stress and anxiety within minutes and builds resilience over time. The result - promoting proper immune response!
The whole curriculum is a 3-day training during which you will learn how to use the trauma-informed massage and embodiment approaches with clients in your 1-1 sessions: Find out more here!
